Kraze FX Dome Strokes - Orchid Crown Design

Crowns are one of girls' favorite design.I love to paint them because they are fast and so versatile.Today I'm using the new Kraze FX Dome Stroke in  Orchid. When I'm choosing colors for the design, I love to go with complementary colors (they are at opposite ends on the color wheel). Complementary colors are pairs of colors which, when mixed, cancel each other out by producing a grayscale color like white or black, but when placed next to each other, they create the strongest contrast for those two colors.

Step 1- Painting a Basic Shape

First I painted my eyelids with Silly Farm Split Cake in Mystique, picking up with a petal sponge only yellow and green. That will give a nice contrast to my crown design and make it pop out more. Then I paint basic a shape with Prima Barton -flat 3/4 brush and Kraze FX Dome Stroke in Orchid.

Step 2 - Adding More Details to the Crown

When we are painting crowns, try to paint them the way that they are "hugging" the eye, creating that C shape. By pressing your brush with the thin side, we are getting that double dipped petal/tear drop shape. In the middle of our crown I added a bling cluster that I made.Usually I will ask kids what bling they want. This is of course optional, you can add just tear drops or stencil something on.

Step 3 - Symmetry

Pay attention to the symmetry of the design. I'm recreating shapes and lines that I did at the opposite side of my crown. That gives balance to the design and it is more eye appealing.

Step 4 - Final Touches

For finishing up the design I'm adding with my Kraze FX White and  Prima Barton round brush No3 some dots and teardrops. Kraze FX Dome Stroke in  Orchid is beautiful, the colors blend so nicely, they are bright, and the coverage is awesome. The domed part is amazing, which makes loading the brush much easier. And we are done. This design will take you just a few minutes but you will have a happy kid and that wow effect.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you will try this design and love it as much as I do. If you paint any of our blog designs please tag us so we can see it.
