Crown Face Paint Stacey Perry

Welcome back! This is our last installment of What’s On Your Board? This week, we’ll be featuring a crown design. The most amazing aspect of a crown design is that you can continue to build and add to it. Meaning, more swirls, glitter, bling, dots, etc…

  4. Loew-Cornell® Gold Grip #4 Round Brush
  5. Glitter is always optional

  6. Loew-Cornell® Gold Grip #4 Round Brush
  7. Bling Clusters – Lost Treasure

The Application:

Simple Crown- This is my 30 second option. No face painter likes to have to rush through a design. However, there are times when you wish you had a super quick design in your head to be used in an emergency. This is what I use in those situations.

  • Step 1- Grab your Angle Brush and Global Split Cake. Start in the middle of the forehead and create a “leaf” shape. Continue by adding a teardrop shape on each side of the middle portion.
  • Step 2- Continuing with the same shape, add two more on each side of the previous shapes. The bottom of each shape should point (or end) at the same location as shown.
  • Step 3- Next, start your stroke at the bottom (pointed) of the design and begin painting around the top of the eyebrow and continue with a swirl motion down to the cheek.
  • Step 4- Load your #4 round brush with Wolfe White and outline the entire design.
  • Step 5- Continue with your Wolfe White and add teardrops the the middle of the design and a series of tiny teardrops to finish the edge of the design, then embellish with dots and stars.

  • Step 1- Load your angle brush with your Kryvaline Split cake and paint in four roses. Start in the middle, followed by two roses on each size. You will want each rose to get smaller as you add them. They should also start to angle up to end in a slight “V” shape.
  • Step 2- Load your angle brush with your Diamond FX green split cake and add leaves as shown.
  • Step 3- Next, double load your petal brush with white and pink from your Kryvaline Split cake and add three petals to the end of each side of the design.
  • Step 4- Load your #2 brush with Wolfe White and add highlights to the rose petals. Continue by adding dots, swirls and teardrops to fill in the design.
  • Step 5- Still using your Wolfe white, outline the eyes followed by a series of teardrops. Finally, load your #2 round brush with Global Dark Blue and give a light outline to the leaves and petals.
    • Optional – add blush, glitter and lipstick

  • Step 1- Load your angle brush with the Green and Yellow from your Kyvaline cake and make a “V” shape beginning in the middle of the forehead as shown. Flip your brush over to add green to the top portion of the shape. Add the same color to the eyelids.
  • Step 2- Add your bling. I like to do this first so all of my swirls come from the bling. Load your #4 round brush with Wolfe White and add 2 swirls on each side of the eyes and coming out from the bling. Add two more swirls in the opposite direction as shown.
  • Step 3- Continuing with your Wolfe White, add a series of teardrops and dots to the design to fill it in, including a series of teardrops under the bling.
  • Step 4- Add an additional swirl extending from each eye and add a series of teardrops under each eye.
  • Step 5- Finally, load your #2 round brush with Global Dark Blue and lightly outline all of your swirls and teardrops.
    • Optional – add blush, glitter and lipstick

I hope you enjoyed this series. Remember, there are no limits to what you can put on your board. While I have only highlighted the top 10 must haves, there are so many more options for you to use. I’ll be featuring some additional board options in the future.

I’d like to add, this series is used by me for practical, On the Job face painting. It works for me, be sure to play around with your designs to find out what works best for you.

Until next time… Live, Love, Paint!!
