Neon colors as with most other brands arenot tested by FDA for cosmetic use on skinand hence arelabeled for use as Hair & Special FX only. Independent studies have however deemed them safe for use on skin and face painters have been using them for designs without known issues. In general, FDA does recommend that reds (this includes yellows and oranges) and blues (this includes greens and purples) as well asneon colorsshould not be used around the eye and lip area or left on the skin too long.

After reading the mixed reviews I purchased one of these palettes and proceeded to try all sorts of different brushes and techniques.
I found that my favorite Golden ...view moreTaklon brushes produce a sparse, difficult result. Loading the brush can be done in a way that will give a beautiful result, but using them as I do normally with my other paints, the outcome of these is less than what they can be.
After using all the different types of brushes I found that my water brushes (water filled brushes) produced amazing results. These are not idea for face painting overall so I tried multiple different White Taklon Brushes. Almost all of my white Taklon brushes produced much more stunning results, but my white Taklon Snap brushes (won’t list the brand in case even that is too much) perfectly match the quality of line and ease of use that my Snap golden Taklon brushes produce with my other face paints.
These paints produced the most stunning results once I was able to figure this all out. So far I have tried Diamond FX, Aquacolor and Kraze Cosmetic grade UV colors. All are more difficult to use and produce different results than the non-cosmetic grade neons, and while I prefer the AQ Black and white to the ones in this set (constructive feedback, your regular black and white is tied for my favorite line B&W ;) I believe in you!!) this set and these colors produce some of the best bang for the buck and vibrant colors I have seen. It is a learning curve but that is the nature of art. Techniques and tools make a huge difference. You may miss out on a fantastic product if you don’t try something different!
The art photos I have included were the end product of using my normal Golden Taklon brushes after figuring out exactly how to load them. The learning curve and load time for my white ones was not only simpler the output was more solid and beautiful.
The swatch photo shows the difference between the same brush load with a white taklon brush (on bottom) vs my Golden Taklon (on top). I did 3 strokes down for the white Taklon and 3 strokes up for the golden so that the very first stroke of each are right next to each other in the middle.
I hope this helps! Your product is amazing and the best bang for the buck, for sure. Now, if only you would sell empty mini one stroke containers for my homemade combinations....I mean, maybe not I might go broke :) view less
Zero stars. Waste of $. Very low on pigment. Looks colorful but so waxy and hard that no matter how many time you load your brush one would not get deep pigment saturation. Deep b...view morelue and black made harsh stains. view less
Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize for the inconvenience. We are more than happy to resolve the issue for you. The neon paints needs tiny bit of water but the brush needs to be loaded back and forth a few more times to work the water into the pigments to make it creamy and to get the brush loaded properly. As for the staining, the paints needs to be soaped first to break down the make up. We are working on adding a video tutorial on how to use the neon palettes and will be adding it to our website once it is available.
Again, we do apologize for the inconvenience. Please email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any other questions or concerns. We will definitely do our best to assist you.
