At our house, spring and summer mean baby chickies, so I couldn't resist a little cheek art design using one as inspiration. Like all babies, chicks spend most of their time eating, and sleeping, so the two little chicks in this design are tuckered out and deep in their naps.
Materials
• Pearl lavender face paint (TAG)
• Pearl white face paint (TAG)
• Yellow face paint (TAG)
• Orange face paint (TAG)
• Green face paint (TAG)
• White face paint (Diamond FX or Wolfe)
• Black face paint (Diamond FX or Wolfe)
• Small filbert brush
• #1 round brush
• #5 round brush
• Sponge
Tutorials
Load your sponge with a combination of pearl lavender and pearl white and place it over the temple to down below the corner of the eye. (I chose lavender for the background because it's a complementary color for yellow.)
Use a small filbert brush and yellow to make two connected, round circles, with a smaller round circle sitting on top of them. On the right larger circle, pull a few small sharp points upward. (This is the tail of one of the chicks.)
Use a #5 round brush to make orange dots above the chicks as shown in the photo. Add a small beak to each chick, and two little feet to the chick which is sitting up. The orange dots above the chicks are going to be the centers for daisies.
Load the #5 round brush with green and add grass for the chicks to sit on and small stems up to the daisies.
Load your #5 round brush with white and complete the daisies by pulling teardrops in toward the center of the each flower. If you only use teardrops on the bottom half, it looks as though you're looking across the top of the daisy. Add dots and starbursts around the design, as well as a few highlights on the chicks.
Use black and the #1 brush to add some outlines to the chickies and you're finished. (Glitter is optional, but usually appreciated to add extra sparkle.)
