Tutorial: Mermaid Eye Swirl

This design uses both paints and pressed pigment powders. The powers are eye shadows that can be used instead of paint. This is very helpful in the summer heat. Design will stay on better using the powder.

Tools:

Medium #4 Round Brush
Small Round #1 (1/16″) Brush
Paradise Makeup AQ Brushes – Body Chisel Brush (1 3/16″)

Colors:

Ben Nye Lumiere Color Palette 12 color
Paradise Nuance Deep Sea Blue


paper towels or cloth

water container
(optional) Fine Mist Spray bottle with water

optional) Baby wipes

 

Application:

1 Starting with the makeup brush, and the light green eye shadow, apply over the lids and across the temples.

2. Next, add dark green, and blue to the crease, and along the temple. Add white in the inner corners and on the cheek. Blend well.

3. Next, using the small round brush and the dark blue, paint very carefully a small thin line across the lashline of the upper lid.

4. From the the corner of the eye, have two swirls coming out in opposite directions.

5. Continue to add swirls, to the first two Have the swirls cascade down the cheek. Add a few small lines coming from the corner as well.

Easily add glitter by using a spray bottle with water, and spritzing the design lightly at least 12 inches away.  Use a poof-able cosmetic grade  glitter to add evenly all around. Use different colors to really create an effect.
