This Pikachu design is a cute drawing quick and easy to do, which children will love for sure!
Step 1.- I start by doing a small drawing of Pikachu on paper, taking for reference several Google images and trying to do it as easy as possible, thinking in an “on the job” design.
Step 2.- Then I paint a small Pokeball on the centre of the cheek and add afterwards the Pikachu: two ovals both for head and body and tiny elongated shapes for ears and legs. The tail starts as a square shaped “Z” for an easier understanding.
Step 3.- I paint small black spots on point of ears and for the eyes and nose, then, I mix black with dark brown for a softer outline of the full drawing using a thin number 1 round brush. Finally, I paint two small red circles for the Pikachu cheeks and inner part of the mouth.
Step 4.- I paint two white circles on top of the eyes and with watery white I highlight top of ears, legs, tail, Pokeball, etc and with watery dark brown I add shadows under Pikachu’s body, legs and tail.
Step 5. I sponged some areas around the design with a light metallic blue and then use a “splatter” stencil with two different tones of blue to make it pop. I finally add some blue and white dots and that’s it!
