What’s On Your Board? (Part 1)

Face Painter Lafayette LA Stacey Perry

Over the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing my top designs that I include on every board no matter what the event will be. If you are anything like me, I customize my Face Painting Board to each event I do.

I have found what works best for me and will gladly share that information with you. This week, I will be discussing Word boards vs picture boards. When I choose them and why.

Word board vs picture board?

Well… my answer is BOTH!

  1. When I’m working a large event, where the customer has paid for me to be there and paint as many faces as possible in a certain time frame, I choose the word board. Why? Because it’s easier to make changes to your design if the guest doesn’t have a picture to go by.
  • We’ve all been there before, the line is long, you take a shortcut and leave off a little detail to save time. Next thing you know, you have an unhappy child that loudly points out everything you forgot and that it doesn’t match the picture. A word board solves that problem.
  • When I’m doing a birthday party, I always choose a picture board. Why? I like to customize my board to match the party theme. However, theme or not, there are certain designs that are always on my board. Which is what I’ll be sharing with you in the upcoming weeks. A picture board for birthday parties also makes it easier for young children to make a decision. This, in turn gives you more time per child.
  • For Pay Per Face events, I always choose a picture board. Why? Because, I have found that get many more paying customers when they know exactly what they are paying for.

Below you’ll find some of the designs I will share with you in the upcoming weeks. I’ll demonstrate ways to make the same design using different levels such as, basic design or deluxe design.
