Mehron Bald Cap
This product is not for everyone, but it is an amazing product. Face painters that stick to kids parties and carnival events would probably never need this. However, if you do specialty makeup or you do fun makeup looks on yourself as a hobby, then I highly recommend this product. It includes everything you need! It includes: the cap, spirit gum, makeup remover, liquid latex, stipple sponge, powder, powder puff, and not to mention the mini palette of Mehron concealers! This high quality product is amazing for the price, and it comes with all kinds of goodies that can be used for all kinds of makeup looks, not just making yourself look bald.

Powder palettes are simply amazing. They are so versatile, so easy to use, and they are one of the best investments that a face painter can make. The product linked above is the Mehron powder palette, but I recommend any of the powder palettes. My favorites are Mehron, Starblend, and Ben Nye powders. If you live in an area that gets hot in the summer, then you need these. The powders resist water, so kids won’t sweat the makeup off as easily as they do with regular water based paints. They are highly pigmented, perfect for shading, and cover large areas really easily. They can also give a beautiful delicate look on girls designs. I think having at least one powder palette is essential as a painter.

BAM Stencils
BAM stencils make any design pop! If you do not have these in your life, then you are missing out on something amazing. These are super affordable, but they make your designs look fabulous, which increases your perceived value. Here are a few BAMS that I could not live without:

This Global Palette is probably one of the best face painting purchases that I’ve made. One day, I could not decide on buying just one split cake, so I decided to buy this palette. The colors are highly pigmented, they come in a cute little palette, each cake paints dozens of faces, and you never have to decide on just one split cake again! My favorite part is the price for all of this gorgeous product! No wonder this is a 5 star rated product.

I applaud all of those who make their very own bling clusters, but not all of us have that kind of patience! Good thing there are pre-made bling clusters to save the day. Two or three dollars may seem like a lot to pay for something that can only be used once, but it is worth every penny. Girls love these things and I have seen painters charge up to $20+ at carnivals for designs that have these sparkly little gems. They make your designs look so valuable that they will pay for themselves.
