Having designs at the ready that will please both the boys and the girls is always exciting! This quick and easy character eye design definitely hits that mark. Add in the fact that you need very few supplies to accomplish this look and you might just see me doing the face painter happy dance. It's a thing. Trust me.

- Diamond FX White
- Diamond FX Black
- FAB Petrol Blue or Global Teal
- Pink Mehron Star Blend
- Silly Farm Big Drop Brush
- Round number 4
- Fluffy Blending Brush
- Ultimate Graffiti Eyes Stencil
- Sponge or Dauber
Step 1: Load your Silly Farm Big Drop Brush with Diamond FX White and paint the shape of the character. I started with an arch over my eyebrow, extending it down to a chunky arm and ending it just past the outer corner of the eye. Next I painted an oval for the head. Make sure this is wider than it is tall. All of these shapes should be very rounded. This character does not have any sharp edges. He's like a fluffy marshmallow. Lastly, I extended one arm up so that he would appear to be waving in the finished look.
Step 2: This step is completely optional. If you have a wicked long line, skip it. However, if you have time, go for it!
With the same Big Drop brush that should be barely wet with white paint, swipe the brush into the dry Petrol Blue or Global Teal. Do not add any water to your brush or to the paint, this is a very dry brush technique in order to add a bit of shading and depth. I just selected a few areas, along the top right edge of his rounded head and the right sides of both of his arms.
Step 3: Add some texture with a few stencil shapes from the Ultimate Graffiti Eye Stencils with a sponge or dauber and your favorite color(s). I love using blues but feel free to use whichever color combos that make you and your client happy!
Step 4: Outline with a number 4 round brush and Diamond FX black. Don't forget to paint his big round eyes and connect them with a line in between. I chose to curve mine slightly for a friendly smile. It is perfectly acceptable to draw a straight line between too! I kept all of my lines fairly thick and was sure to round off the head shape and the arms as well.
Step 5: Add highlights and dots with Diamond FX white and round number 4 brush. I also added pink cheeks to mine by using a fluffy brush and Pink Star Blends. Again, these cheeks are totally optional but don't you just love them? I do too!
