Line Boosters With FUSION Splitcakes by Marina

Closing the line or speed painting is the most stressful part of our job if you ask me. Especially if it's a big event! In these situations, we have to be super fast but we still need to deliver nice designs and put smiles on kids' faces. So in this blog I will show you what I do in those situations.

FUSION split cake palettes are my go to paints for this. They are bright, have great coverage, a great color spectrum, and most of all, they give that wow effect every time.

For this design, I'm using a jumbo sponge dauber because it fits perfectly in our FUSION rainbow burst palette. I used POP stencils, but of course you can use whichever stencil you have so we are not gonna focus on stencils. Rose princess cake is perfect for my central piece and jungle snake for the green parts. To get that nice ombre effect, I'm spraying my dauber (I don't like to spray paints because the excess water stays inside of the cake making it soft), and go over the split cake a few times, picking up all colors.

How your design will look it depends of course on the theme and stencil you are working with. This princess crown was super fast and it still looks great. When you are putting paint on, don't drag the dauber or sponge, just tap the paint so that the colors don't smudge and have a clean gradation.

In this photo, you can see the color spectrum is equally visible on the dauber as it is in split cake. This time we are gonna create simple a eye design using my favorite split cake from FUSION Leanne's tropical collection palette - Neon nirvana. This one glows so beautifully under the blacklight, but it is equally beautiful and bright under regular light. That is why I love FUSION split cake palettes! Green split cake-Jungle snake is from FUSION rainbow burst palette, which I love to use for my leafs, dinosaurs, and dragons. You can find both of those split cakes in regular size too as you can see in links.

When we are picking up paint, the dauber or sponge has to be lightly wet and then swiped over the split cake until it's almost sticking to paint. That way, our paint won't leak under the stencil and we will have all paints nice and bright.

This is my finished tropical flower eye design. It was fast, colorful, bright and it looks pretty and professional.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you will try this design and love it as much as I do. If you paint any of our blog designs please tag us so we can see it.
