How to Paint a Super Cool Fantasy Sword

Sword 2014

All the kids want one of these! Whether it’s a little boy who is a warrior, or a little girl who knows what to do with it.  Usually it’s tame enough to win’s mom’s approval too. You can’t go wrong with a fantasy sword!

Tools:

Medium #4 Round Brush
paper towels or cloth
water container
(optional) Spray bottle with water
(optional) Baby wipes

Colors used in this picture:

Diamond FX Essential Black
Tag Body Art Light Green
Wolfe Face Paints – Light Blue
Paradise Makeup AQ – Brilliant Face Paint Silver  ( my favorite silver by far!)

Optional: Amerikan Body Art Cosmetic Glitter – Holographic White (Sheer)

Application:

1. Starting with the Paradise Silver, start to paint a long rectangle with a pointed end.  Make sure to leave plenty of room for the handle.

2. Next , starting with the light blue, paint two medium sized circles underneath the sword. Add two green circles on top of the blue circles, and then two underneath.  Make sure all the paint is dry before going on to the next step.

3. Finally, outline your design. Starting at the top, outline the outside of the sword. Paint one line going down the middle of the sword. Trace around the circles to make the handle. Paint around each circle to make the handle detail at the bottom with black lines going from the middle to the edges. Fill in remaining gaps with green. Add glitter to the circles for an added touch!
